Danzig's Shopping List

Okay, so I put this on our band's blog, but I like it so much I'm going to put it here too.

Please note that I'm often late to shit on the internet so if everyone's already seen this, I apologize.

Please also note that I owned Blackaciddevil for shorter than the running time of the record. I actually bought it, decided it sucked, and sold it back in under 25 minutes. I've never regretted my decision.

The main reason I'm posting this, however, is to discuss the fact that when Ryan and I were in high school we used to do what we called "Danzig house calls" which involved calling people we knew on the phone and playing Danzig songs for them. Usually Ryan would play the riff from "Let it Be Captured" and I would sing the song in a totally overwrought Danzig voice. So while you were out doing, you know, fun stuff, we were doing shit like this. I think in the long run we win.

I'd also like to bring up the fact that our friend Pete once interviewed Danzig for the zine he wrote for. Danzig left him a voice mail message that said something like "Yo Pete. This is Glenn." Somehow, Pete managed to lose this. Problematic.

While I'm at it, here's a list of records I'm totally excited about and hope to review when they come out:

Deadbird, "Twilight Ritual"
Esoteric, "The Maniacal Vale"
Solstafir, "Kold"
Whatever the fuck the new Hyatari record which is probably never coming out is going to be called.

If you happen to know Hyatari and you read this ask them what's up with their new record. The song on their MySpace page from it is fucking ace, but it was now officially over a year ago that they said the record was just about to come out on their blog. Did they break up? Was the record just so good that they couldn't bear to be responsible for the chaos which would ensue as millions of people's heads were crushed beyond all recognition by it's mountains of heaviness? What's the fucking deal, Hyatari?

Where was I going with this?

Oh yeah...

Danzig house calls. Ryan and I ruled in high school. Some things never change.
